We rented the executive room out for night so we could go out and party and then instead of going home drunk we went back to our room. Everything was excellent except for one thing.

We were warned to keep the noise down, however the security guard that came up to our room looked confused when he opened the door only to realise that he had got the wrong room but didnt admit it. It was the actual room below us and the one below that one that were making all the noise. He then quickly went away and that was that.

Awesome spacious room with excellent facilities.

Window seals need mending as noise level was very high because window couldnt close completely.

    Good location.

Room was filthy. For a reasonably modern hotel everything was dirty...the carpet had stains & marks everywhere, the other surfaces in the room were all black with dust/dirt & even the iron was all black & sticky. Very disappointing.

I requested a quiet room with a view and the staff went all out to provide this. I was on the top floor and had lovely views, but it was very quiet and private. Just perfect. Lots of space in the apartment, and fabulous facilities - dishwasher, washing machine and dryer etc. Great that you can get fresh air and the windows open. Natural flow of air. Very light and spacious. Bronin on reception was very friendly and helpful. I was grateful to him for his advice and professional assistance.

Perhaps they could have a long mirror in the main bedroom. There was only one mirror, in the bathroom. Also some paintings on walls other than the living room would make the apartment more homely. But it was lovely to stay there, these are minor things.

    Good

    Location

The room was more claustrophobic than last time. I ordered a two bedroom suite because when I stayed their previously I had a room which was perfect and spacious. I think it was 304 but certainly looking out towards the sky tower This time I got a room (601) which was on a different side of the building and was more cramped Also the toaster was cracked and the remote for the TV not working but staff fixed both immediately. I tried also to ring reception from my cellphone as I was running late and wanted a taxi ordered for a certain time as I was arriving back at the hotel and needed to leave again almost immediately. The call remained unanswered I thought that was poor I intend to travel to Auckland in February but will consider carefully if the Chatham is value for money

    Very good

Me and my friends enjoyed our stay and staff were awesome. The rooms were great and spacious and even had 2 bathrooms and toilet facilities for our group. It was great value for money being December with most hotels being expensive, we found that The Chatham was very affordable and room was luxurious. I would recommend to others.

Our Ipod dock was not working so we had to find other measures to listen to music during our stay. Other than that, everything was great.

Apart from the noise of the nearby nightlife, this was a joy for not only me the parent but also my children. You need to feel like you are getting a break from your own four walls and this certainly did this for all off us. The location is also very good, close to everything.

Excellent facilities and close to cbd activity. The Red Link bus, which provides free transport through out the hub of Auckland city at various stops, it was wonderful that it had a pick up spot in front of hotel. I stayed at hotel, which facilitated very well for our needs, because I was with my sister and mother in Auckland for family wedding. We originally booked a deluxe apartment, but upon our arrival we were given a courtesy upgrade to an executive suite apartment, which we very much appreciated. Also we hired a 4wd and we were also provided with secure car parking upon request, when we made our booking. We spent 12 days there and were very happy with the apartment and excellent staff service. It is near the night life district of k road, but I did my research prior to confirming booking I requested an apartment away from the street, no issue with noise at all. I would highly recommend the Chatham and my family and I will be staying there again, whenever we stay again in Auckland :)

    Convienience, large apartments

The common areas need major ongoing cleaning.... almost everything you see or step on looks and feels dirty..... the aprtment I stayed in the sliding glass doors where filthy, also the kithchen doors there were greasy fingers marks from previous guests..... major housekeeping focus is needed or wont be coming back!

    Very good

Adjacent to KRoad and walking distance to Ponsonby Rd. Bus stops to downtown adjacent.

Our apartment was hideously hot, no air con, no fans. Small living room for a 2 bedroom apartment. Walk up from downtown very steep, however buses are available to save the legs and heart.
